RUSH: I mentioned yesterday that, if you didn’t know, you should know that they’re in panic. In the deep, dark crevices of power, the Democrat Party, they’re in abject panic.  This is not where they were supposed to be.  Trump was not supposed to be a factor. The election was supposed to be over months ago.  But certainly this week it was not supposed to be in question.  Hillary should have been… They’re already planning inaugural balls and all the other trappings that go with victory.  This is not where they wanted to be, and with the possibility Trump could win, they are in abject panic.  And it’s being demonstrated on TV.

James Carville lost it on MSNBC.  We’re gonna break the ban that we have on MSNBC to let you hear that.  Robby Mook of the Clinton campaign lost it.
They’re all losing it out there over Comey.  Now, stop and think.  The Clintons themselves are responsible for sustaining this.  It has nothing to do with Comey.  Like, there’s a story in TheHill.com about how Comey is gonna soon be under investigation for the letter that he sent to Congress because he violated the law.  It’s not how it works, folks.

I hate to tell you, but it’s the subject or the target of an investigation that is the focus of the investigation — in this case Mrs. Clinton and Huma.  The investigator is not under suspicion.  But this is how the Clintons operate.  They turned it around on Ken Starr, made him the focus (with the media’s assistance), and they’re trying to do the same thing now with one week out. They’re trying to do the same with Comey.  The problem is back in July, they praised Comey to the hilt.  You know what Hillary should have done the minute Comey came out?

Last Friday, when this letter was made public, Comey’s letter to Congress, you know what she should have done?  She could have shut all this down.  She could have owned this week, because they’re not gonna be producing anything… Well, that’s another thing.  I gave you a hypothetical question yesterday that may turn out to have actually some truth behind it.  But if Mrs. Clinton on Friday — or if the Clinton campaign, if Mook or whoever — had said, “We trust James Comey.  He’s already investigated this, and there isn’t anything there.

“We’ve got one week out. We’re gonna continue our quest here to win the presidency.  We have complete, utter confidence and faith in James Comey.  I don’t know what he’s found, but he’s already said that there’s nothing there, and that’s what we think is the case now.” That would have shut it down.  But with her fighting it and with her team trying to make Comey now into Satan incarnate — and with all this, you know, hiding Huma — they have invited scrutiny.  They have made it look like, “Oh, my God!

And then everybody focuses on what it is, and they drop reporting the WikiLeaks scandal, which is starting to have negative impact on the Clintons. The WikiLeaks scandal right now is starting to hurt because it’s exposing the fraud and the hustling and the collusion and the corruption that’s going on at the Clinton Foundation. You start messing around with things that are supposed to be charitable to serve humanity, you end up profiting personally from it, that’s easy to understand. Everybody knows that’s not nice.

Everybody understands that you are not supposed to get rich off of a charity, and the news here is that the Clintons have done that and are doing that. That’s easy to understand. So, as Hillary starts plummeting in the polls — eight points down in the Washington Post — riding to the rescue is the Lone Ranger, James Comey, announcing that they’re reopening the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. Everybody stops talking about what is easily portrayed and is easily understandable in the WikiLeaks story and starts speculating on what Comey and the FBI are doing.

All the while, nobody knows.

That’s the cynical view.

That’s the cynical view.  The cynical view is that Comey is still carrying water for Clinton and is trying to get everybody to stop paying attention to the WikiLeaks dump because it’s starting to have an impact.  So you announce you’re opening the inquiry, get everybody all hot and bothered and focused on it, and then after three or four or five days, announce that it was a false alarm, nothing to see here. The investigation is now officially over — and, meanwhile, in that five-day period everybody’s forgotten about be WikiLeaks.

RUSH: Anyway, in the last hour, Comey makes his announcement, and I asked people:  How are you going to feel — I just want you to think about something — how are you going to feel if next Wednesday or Thursday Comey comes out and says, “Hey, there’s nothing new here. We didn’t find anything.  How are you going to feel?  You’re going to feel let down, because you think, my goodness, there’s no way he would reopen this if there wasn’t something serious.”

How many people said that?  There’s no way Comey would do this.  He’s not going to stick his neck out like that.  He would no way announce this unless there really was something of a bombshell nature.  Everybody thought that.  And I, El Rushbo, asked you to pause and ponder how you would feel if in the middle of the next week, say Wednesday or Thursday, that would be last week, that Comey came out and said, “Hey, we looked at it.  There’s nothing here.”

Well, that happened yesterday.  So I’ve got all these people sending me e-mails last night and messages.  “Man, oh man, did you call it.  Wow.”  Folks, I don’t know if I called it.  It was the cynical view that I always played it out to be.  But I wasn’t surprised, I’ll just tell you this.  (interruption) I know, this is the only place that that possibility was explored.

This is the only place in media where that view, that quasi prediction was even addressed.  Everybody else bought it hook line and sinker.  Well, I say everybody else.  There could be some stragglers out there.  We can’t know what everybody out there says about things, Mr. Snerdley.  But this clearly was the origination of that line of thinking.  And, boy, I was taking my share of heat for it as though I had descended into the tinfoil hat club.  And now it’s happened.  And how did you feel when you found out about it yesterday?

Were you shocked?  I wasn’t shocked.  I was surprised by the timing.  I thought once we got past Wednesday or Thursday that such an announcement wasn’t going to be made.  I was not shocked that it happened, not at all.  I’m being honest with you.  I’m not surprised.

RUSH: Folks, we are living in the midst of a giant teachable moment. This is how it happens. This is how fake news takes root and becomes the narrative, becomes the daily script of the inside-the-Beltway soap opera written by the Drive-By Media. This whole business of Russia hacking our election is fake news with the imprimatur of intelligence agencies and the CIA, and it’s brought to us by the same newspapers that took out, tried to take out Richard Nixon. And if I didn’t know better, I would say they are trying to relive the moment and “Watergate” Donald Trump.

This is exactly how it happens.  All weekend long I was doing what I always do.  I combine leisure and work and I’m doing show prep while engaging in leisure time activities and so forth.  Well, I will even, on the golf course, do show prep.  If you’re playing with some slow people, have time to check the phone, maybe see something, print it to the printer at work, and you’re done.

As I got here today and began to assemble everything I’ve collected over the weekend, I ended up with two stacks.  Sometimes I end up with four stacks, and each Stack is organized by either news type, be it hard news, heavy news, lighthearted news, or subject.  In this case the two stacks are organized by virtue of subject and everything else.  Because the everything else only has four or five pages in it. And the other Stack, which is the CIA and the Washington Post, New York Times saying that the Russians hacked the election, is 90% of everything I printed over the weekend.

I got here and I started organizing it, this is it.  This is exactly how it happens.  Even though Trump has won, even though Hillary has been vanquished, even though the left has suffered defeat after defeat after defeat, the Drive-By Media is still there, and they’re still acting as they always do.  They are setting the agenda.  They are setting the narrative, establishing it, and they are determining what everybody talks about.

And today, because of this, I found myself asking myself, should I play this game today or not?  Should I treat this the way I’ve been treating it for all the years I’ve been doing the program?  And that is to react to it, to go on defense, to explain how the lies stack up here, to explain the BS.  And I think I’ve got no choice, and I don’t know if it’s a problem or if it’s just the way it is.

Fake news is the order of the day.  Fake news, a story first on Saturday and then on Sunday, Washington Post and New York Times, that intelligence sources, it turns out to be unnamed, a couple people, we don’t know who, no specifics, alleging that the Russians left fingerprints as they hacked the 2016 election.

We’re also told that the Russians hacked both the RNC and the DNC, and one of the controversies is, why didn’t WikiLeaks use any of the stuff they got from the hack of the Republicans?  And that is being used to suggest that the fix was in from Russia against Hillary, because they had equal data on the Republicans and they just decided not to use it.

RUSH: Then the U.K. Daily Mail story:  “Ex-British ambassador who is now a WikiLeaks operative claims Russia did not provide Clinton emails,” to WikiLeaks. That, in fact, “they were handed over to him,” an ex-British ambassador, “at a D.C. park by an intermediary for ‘disgusted’ Democratic whistleblowers.”

When this all settles in, wouldn’t it just be the most delicious irony of all if it was, in fact, Democrat whistleblowers who had no desire for Hillary Clinton to get anywhere near the Oval Office who were doing the leaking and the, quote/unquote, “sabotage”?  Wouldn’t that just be delicious, folks?  And I wouldn’t discount the possibility.

Two sources now alleging to it, and I wouldn’t doubt it at all, when the media gets on a narrative and runs with it like they are this Russian business, I guarantee you, guarantee you it’s very possible this is nowhere near what really happened.

RUSH: When the media and the Democrat Party are aligned and in unison on a story, I don’t believe it.  The story is the Russians hacked the election, the Russians are responsible for Podesta’s emails ending up with WikiLeaks.  I don’t believe it.  I just don’t believe it.

I don’t believe it because nothing the Democrats ever end up coordinating is actually factual.  It’s always deceitful.  It’s always intended to throw people off what really happened.  What happened here, Julian Assange has said that none of this came from the Russians.  I believe that Podesta’s email was violated by virtue of a phishing attack, which is not a hack!  It was done because Podesta made a mistake. He clicked on a link in an email that he’d been told was okay by an IT guy, and it was not okay, and he ended up divulging all of his personal data:  user names, email address, and passwords to whoever ran the phishing attack.

And that’s how Podesta’s emails were made public.  Whatever happened here, I happen to believe that the likely culprit, ’cause I’ve seen this referenced twice now, one place in the U.K. Daily Mail with actual names and a source, British intelligence claiming a contact he knows at the Democrat National — bottom line version.  I believe that this is an inside job.

I believe an angry Democrat or two or three who were for Bernie Sanders, after they found out how the deck was stacked, when they found out that Hillary Clinton and Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz had cheated and were arranging that whole primary to be rigged so that Hillary had no chance of losing, that Bernie Sanders was being used, privately laughed at, mocked, and made fun of.

The Bernie Sanders people were true believers.  I think there’s animus for Hillary Clinton inside the Democrat Party that never gets reported because the media doesn’t want people to think of the Democrats that way, but I think this was an inside job.  I think somebody that had some sort of an animus against Hillary and the way that primary ran, the way they rigged it against Bernie, it may take years to find out, but that’s where all of this happened, in my mind.  I don’t believe this crap in public.

So he stole a bunch of military documents, defense department documents, government military secrets, and he gave them to Julian Assange at WikiLeaks.  And Obama just commuted his sentence!  Obama just pardoned a guy who committed treason by giving a bunch of data to WikiLeaks, which I guess now it’s okay to have confidential information leaked to WikiLeaks.  I guess it’s perfectly fine to have WikiLeaks involved in the American judicial process.

I guess it would be safe to say that Ashley… No, what is it? What is it? (interruption) Chelsea.  (You know, I actually keep wanting to say Peyton Manning and I know it’s not Peyton.)  Chelsea Manning has hacked the pardon process.  But apparently it’s okay. It’s okay.  He hacked the pardon process to get a pardon.  It’s perfectly fine, just like Putin hacked the election, Manning hacked the pardon process.  I don’t see the difference, folks.  I really, really don’t.

RUSH: Now, here is the overview of this story. A Democrat National Committee staffer was murdered on July 10th last year not very far from his home. A DNC staffer. It is said that he had leaked something like 44,000 emails to WikiLeaks. Law enforcement sources are saying this. “A federal investigator who reviewed an FBI forensic report detailing the contents of DNC staffer Seth Rich’s computer generated within 96 hours after his murder, said Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen,” who is now room temperature.

He passed away from cancer. But he was an American investigative reporter; Seth Rich ostensibly used him as the go-between to get these 44,000 emails to WikiLeaks. The subject of the emails… Apparently, the story is that Seth Rich was outraged that DNC was rigging the primary for Hillary Clinton. Now, the local Washington police said (paraphrased), “No, no! There’s nothing to any of that. This is just a robbery gone bad.” The problem with that is that his wallet was not stolen nor his phone. So people say, “W-w-wait,” and the investigation so-called after that. No perp has been found.

“Robbery gone bad.” Seth Rich died, so the family of Seth Rich went out there and hired their own investigator, a guy by the name of Rod Wheeler. He’s a former detective in the Washington police department. He said, “My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks.” … This is not Wheeler: “‘I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,’ [a] federal investigator told Fox News, confirming the MacFadyen connection. He said the emails are in possession of the FBI, while the stalled case is in the hands of the Washington Police Department.”

So if you accept all of this at face value, what you would conclude here is that the FBI (and, thus, Comey) knew about this connection of this Democrat National Committee staffer been murdered and his forwarding of 44,000 emails to WikiLeaks and despite knowing all of that, still pushed the Russian story.

RUSH: Now, Seth Rich is a fascinating, fascinating angle, because if this actually turns out to be an internal leak from a disgruntled employee who happens to be mad at the way the DNC was rigging the game against Crazy Bernie, because that’s what we learned from that leak. We learned the DNC had rigged the primary against Crazy Bernie. That’s not from Podesta. That’s from the DNC computer.

So now there’s two competing theories as to how WikiLeaks got it, either from Seth Rich, who was murdered. And, by the way, he was murdered two weeks before all of this info shows up on WikiLeaks. So it’s a good, old-fashioned mystery. The FBI has chosen to accept whatever CrowdStrike told them and to leave this Seth Rich story as bohunk and that the only thing worth paying attention to here is the Russian connection.
